Sofas
Small sofas, sofabeds and chaise longues
At Darn Right, we are able to reupholster smaller sofas and chaise longues in our workroom. When necessary we hire a van to transport larger items so get in touch with the dimensions of your furniture to see if we can accommodate it.
Furniture with sentimental value
With a solid frame to work from, it is a delight to reupholster treasured items of furniture. We can replace the padding on your furniture where needed. This may require new foam padding or, for traditional pieces, horsehair/coir. We will also address any problem springs and reglue the frame if necessary. Woodwork can be nourished with oil or sanded back and refinished to meet your requirements.
Although reupholstery is not cheap, it does enable you to hold on to furniture that you have a special connection to, or that fits your space perfectly but needs restoring. Do not expect reupholstery to be any cheaper than purchasing a new item as it takes time and skill to carefully strip, repair and reconstruct furniture.
Tailor-made just for you
The benefit of choosing to reupholster your furniture is that you are in complete control. You can choose the fabric, the trim and the finishing flourishes.
You can select your fabric to reupholster the furniture and we can help to guide you as to how suitable it is. If you do not choose a fabric that has had a fire-resistant treatment, but it is at least 75% natural fibres, we will apply an underlayer of fire-resistant calico. This ensures the piece will be in line with current fire regulations. We are happy to advise and source fabric for you and work closely with local Yorkshire fabric companies.
