Transform an inherited, tired looking circa 1960s sofabed whilst maintaining the memories of the piece. The client received this sofabed from a Grandparent and it evokes fond memories.

Solution

take the sofabed back to the frame and start again

The sofabed was completely stripped back to the metal frame. Mechanisms were fixed so that the drop arms worked once more.  Zips were added to the cushions to allow for future cleaning. The legs and back were refinished. Now it is on-trend with an air of Scandi design. Perfect and practical for any modern house. It was recovered in a soft, wool-effect chenille fabric (Como 30) from the Yorkshire Fabric Shop.
