To reupholster a sofa that had seen too much attention from the family cat. The client needed some fabric that was going to be ‘claw-proof’.

Solution

velvet is a good ‘cat-proof’ fabric

A velvet with a very short pile is a good ‘cat-proof’ option. It is smooth, durable and very hard for the cat to sink claws into. With this in mind, the Plush Velvet range by Warwick was recommended. The client selected Amethyst and we used a contrast top-stitch to add interest. The sofa was finished off with a cheerful base of Turmeric Plush Velvet for a bit of fun.
