Breathe new life into a tired old armchair

Sand out the knocks in the wood, improve the padding and recover the chair in new fabric.

Solution

Overhaul of the armchair required

The chair needed to be stripped back and the perished foam replaced. It was covered in Warwick Rouen in Seaspray and finished with topstitching detail. The frame was sanded back to bare wood before being stained to a medium/light oak to complement the face fabric. Three layers of finishing oil and a good buff brought the wood back to life.
